About ArtKapsule
ArtKapsule launched in 2014 with the aim of helping art lovers navigate the thrilling - and vast - contemporary art landscape in New York City. Founder Elaine Ronson deploys a network of contacts from the best emerging galleries in the Lower East Side to the blue chip mega-galleries of Chelsea on her clients’ behalf. As well as sourcing artwork, ArtKapsule has a trusted network of installers, framers and shippers to facilitate the nuts and bolts of art collecting, as well as the professional software to provide cataloguing resources. Above all, ArtKapsule aims to offer friendly and informed guidance to private clients, from newcomers to the market to experienced collectors making strategic acquisitions.
Elaine Ronson
Elaine’s love of contemporary art stems from her experience in the nineties working as Features Editor on London’s Time Out magazine when ‘Cool Britannia’ ruled the world! Tony Blair was PM, Blur and Oasis were slugging it out in the charts and the ‘Young British Artists’: Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst, Sarah Lucas, Chris Ofili, Banksy and more were producing art that made outraged tabloid headlines. Elaine collaborated on many features with and about the YBAs before going on to help found London’s Metro newspaper and take over its arts coverage. In 2012 Elaine moved with her family to New York City and began the process of setting up the art advisory that became ArtKapsule.
